Words of Grace

As the world of Americans gets shaken once again to its roots by violence that is incomprehensible to the ordinary mind, I find myself in meditation and prayer to try to wrap my mind around what is "right" with the world in spite of it all. 

I recognize that the more I concentrate of what seems "wrong," the more I will see what is wrong.  Once again, I am forced to put the principles of Science of Mind into action by remembering that only Good, only God, can come from all things since all things came from that same Good and God.  It's always so hard to act on the principles of our faith, isn't it?

Today, I am able to put myself into the place of seeing foreigners in my country, seeing the violence those foreigners perpetrate everywhere, and to recognize that is exactly the same thing people in Iran are seeing when they look out their windows at American "foreigners" toting guns and killing.  Those foreigners are soldiers being asked to be in that country that is foreign to them and to kill people. 

How hard is that to do, even when we are there at the request of our government?  Not only that, American soldiers are there in constant fear for their own lives because they are in a foreign land as the foreigner and the natives don't want them there and are trying to kill them back.  

As Dr. Kenn Gordon said in his letter to all of us at Centers for Spiritual Living, this seeking of vengence has never worked and never can.  This violence only begets more violence and sends  our surviving soldiers home in distress and stress and then are asked to act "normal."

It's time we turned from what to do about the current incident in Boston and elsewhere and turn to the only answer there is--The Divine.  Turn towards the sacred and holy instead of anger and resentment and pray for peace in our own hearts so that what we present to the world is what we represent as knowers of Science of Mind.  

Be ye transformed by the reNEWing of your mind.  Remember, we are New Thought.
