Words of Grace
Revolution is often the beginning of something new. Many governments have begun in revolutions. Mostly this consists of war and destruction with the current government clutching tightly to the old and resurgents (rising again) insisting on something new.
However, lately there have been changes in the world that do not begin with war but in cooperation and agreement, for example, South Africa. Mind you, there was much violence going on before the change of government indicating the unhappy state of a large number of people governed, but ultimately, the change was reasonably smooth. And currently Scotland is "lobbying" for an independent government with parties on both sides colliding in thoughts. It will be interesting to watch while praying for peaceful change. Change is inevitable, fighting it is optional.
And "revolution" also means turning in a full circle. I like to think that we can move forward while keeping our eyes on what history teaches us about the past and learning whatever lessons we need without being "condemned to repeat" it because we don't remember our history.
Are we still a government "of, by and for" the people? If that is not still true, revolution will become inevitable if the government we have described in our Constitution and Bill of Rights is not still represented-"Re-presented"-since we must match what we have declared to be true in our Declaration.
If we feel our way of life has come to "convolution," we will reach resolution for revolution in favor of evolution. One way or the other, history is in the making one day at a time.
Pray for the resolution of our internal revolutions so our own evolution becomes the freedom on which America was founded and the grat example of the feeling of the God Quality called "Freedom."
