The Qualities of a Good Life
We will be continuing our look at the qualities of God that, when we understand them, we see are ours to use without further ado. Every one of the divine qualities are fully orbed in each of us and all that it takes to feel them is to stop feeling that we don’t have them. They are the nature of the universe and they are present in every and all situations and all we have to do is see them in this, too.
There are only two ways to look at the world around us: Either GOD IS ALL THERE IS or God is NOT all there is. If God is all there is, everything that happens that we feel shouldn’t is God, everything that doesn’t happen that we feel should is God; everything is happening as it should. Doesn’t always feel that way, does it?
I know that stuff happens all the time for me and most of it isn’t what I thought I ordered. On the other hand, I don’t always pay attention to what I am thinking or saying or doing that is bringing about the effect I am experiencing in the moment.
When I do my spiritual practices daily, which for me include meditation, visioning, and prayer, things generally go pretty well. I am doing pretty well right now. I could, however, not have enough time to meditate because maybe I slept late. If I don’t have enough time to meditate, I probably don’t do my visioning. It will also be likely that the only prayer I manage is “Oh God, I’m late.” That, of course, brings me more lateness to deal with. And maybe my poor dog is shorted on her walk. Now that’s just mean.
Here’s what I really meant to say, when we recognize there are qualities that belong to each of us as our birthright, we can and should come to the conclusion that we are the beloved of the Beloved. It is well pleased to be enjoying the life we are creating—even when what is created isn’t our highest and best.
Here are the qualities of God. See if there are any you don’t want. Then let’s talk.
Abundance, Beauty, Balance, Creativity, Freedom, Harmony, Joy, Love, Oneness, Power, Wholeness, and Unity. See anything you don’t need?
